The core patented ingredient Granblock® of Medipeau Inc. has been featured in the European Journal of Pharmacology (IF 5.3, Elsevier, October 2025 issue) through a collaborative study with Professor Su Ryeon Seo and her research team at the College of Life Sciences, Kangwon National University.
This study identified that the natural compound Cynaroside, a key component of Granblock®,selectively inhibits Granzyme B (GrB) — an enzyme involved in skin inflammation and barrier damage —thereby scientifically verifying the potential of Granblock® to help reduce inflammation and support skin barrier recovery.
Granzyme B is known to be overactivated in
chronic inflammatory skin conditions such as atopic dermatitis and psoriasis,
causing tissue damage and skin barrier breakdown.
According to the study, Cynaroside inhibited GrB activity, reduced inflammatory
cell infiltration and cytokine secretion,
and helped protect essential skin structural proteins such as fibronectin and decorin,
contributing to improved skin barrier integrity.
These findings demonstrate that Granblock®
is an innovative, nature-derived ingredient designed to address skin
inflammation beyond simple soothing or moisturizing effects.
Granblock® is formulated in Medipeau’s representative product line, Oleogel, which applies smoothly to the skin, absorbs without stickiness, and helps calm
and moisturize irritated or sensitive skin.
Formulated with naturally derived ingredients, it is carefully designed for
delicate and sensitive skin types.
